St Thomas's Hospital Jany 15.1801 .

Sir

I am directed by the Treasurer to apply to you respecting the
Payment of Rent due to this Hospital for Premises at the little
Hard Gosport in lease to Mr Francis Duncan< no role > , which have been
neglected to Messes. Kirkpatrick of the Isle of Wight. The lack
Payment of rent was to Lady day 1799, but whether it was made by
you or by Messes Kirkpatrick I am not informed, being now in
Office, and overlate Treasurer Mr Jefferies having resigned his office &
entered into Somsetshire makes this Enquiry necessary. If [..]
Says with you to make the Payments you will please to remitt
£15.2for a year & halfs rent & Acquittance due as Michmas
last & in future if you will refer me to your Correspondent in
London, I will lodge my Receipt with him for the annual rent,
which will save as both Trouble.If then Rent is paid by Messr.
Kirkpatrick themselves will you have the Goodness to hand this
Enquiry to them that the Purpose of it may be answered.

I am favoured with your of the 13s. covering three Bells Value
five hundered & one pounds five Shillings, which as they are paid well
be placed to the Credit of your Account with the Hospital, impact
of the Tebshalf rents due as Michmas last.It certainly will
much contribute to the Charnss of the Accounts, to keep the Rents
of the Colliery Account totally destinct from each other. If the
Expence of the Collecey exceed the Income on any Occasion the
difference should be made good to you by dufths upon the
Treasurer & charged to the Debet of the Collery Account.

Since I received your I have just had a Treasurer Sight of
the Treasurer who purpose are long writing to you. In Remark
upon the News of the dreadful death of Will Hill he desire in
to arte whether [..] the Mr. Hill who says £60 a year or him
that pass £46.10& whether he has left property enough to
the Widow, if she our seven the Shock, to enroll her to pay the Read
of manage the farm with Justice? If this Question that can
severed in the Affirmative, it will be but an leet of Justice to
centum [..] the Widow as Tenant instead of her poor unfortunate
Husband.

The Estate at Avely belonging to this Hospital being put to
a constant heavy Expence her maintances & supporting the Embantence to
adjoinery the River Thames; & as I am of Opinion that a Quota of the
said [..] Charge should be bound by the Proprectoes of other hand
that one upon the Level, & an Course protected thereby Percint me to request
the favour of your acquainting me whether the Commissioner of Serves
