Sr,
The Grand Committee of this Hospital being Acquainted
that you have omitted and indeed refused to Sign the
Contract you made for 4 Houses in the Old Baily and
on which a Lease has been a good while drawn and Ingost

I am directed by that Committee to inform you of their
great Surprize that a Gent of your worth should depart
from an Agreemt. so deliberately and firmly made
and they hope you will consider further and better of
the matter and execute the Contract

I could not sooner return an answer to your favour
of 17th. Decemr. by reason of the recess of the Grand Committee
which did not meet till this day, I laid Your: letter
before them and they are of the same opinion at before

Not to treat on any new terms, and do insist
that the Counsels fees be repaid, This being
what I have in Command I remain with respect
