Thomas Clewer< no role > of Narrow Street Limehouse
in the County of Middlesex Ship Chandler
Maketh Oath and saith That a Bill of Indictment
was preferred and found against him this Deponent
in September Session last for an Assault upon
the above named Prosecutor and that he
did employ one Mr. Ashfield as his Attend
to Defend him in the above Prosecution
And this Deponent further saith that he pleaded
to the said Indictment in October Session
last and put in Bail to Try his Traverse
at the present Session which he intended
to have done But the said Mr Ashfield
having neglected to give the usual notice
of Tryal he is prevented from so doing
and therefore this Deponent humbly
