To His Majesty's Justices of the Peace
Acting in and for the County of Middlesex
May it please your Worships.
Whereas Timothy Smith< no role >
, Oilman
of
Red Lion Street
, in the Liberty of St: John's Clerkenwell
having
been duly chosen Headborough according to the usual custom:
and it not buing convenient to serve the said Office himself: he
proposed one William Weaver< no role >
: to serve as his Substitute.
We are of opinion that the said William Weaver< no role >
is a very
unfit: and an improper person, to fill the said Office: neither
does he reside within St John's district.
We doubt not, but should your worships be pleas'd to
make inquiry into his character, and conduct sufficient causes
will appear, why he ought not to be continued in the said Office
altho he has so far obtained as to be Sworn in for the Liberty
& St John's Clerkenwell
by Mr Justice Clarke.
We do therefore most humbly submit to your
worships the consideration of the premises.
June 29th
1792.
