The Examination of Martha Goldsmith< no role > Widow taken on
Oath before us to of his Majesties Justices of the Peace Acting
in and for the said County this 30th. day of April 1785

This Examinant on her Oath Saith that She is now about thirty three
Years of Age was born at Deddington in the County of Oxford that about
twelve Years ago She Inter married with Titus Goldsmith< no role > at the Parish
Church of St. Anns Black fryars in the City of London by whom She
had one Child since deced that her Husband dyed about the 20th. of March
1781 That her said Husband was bound Apprentice by Indre to one Edwards
a Silk dyer next door to Kings head the Old Charge in the Parish of St. Mary
Magdalen London and that he served under those Indentures for about
three Years and an half and then ran away and never afterwards did
any Act to gain any other Settlement than aforesaid as he Informed this
Deponent & she beleives to be true and thir Deponent Saith that she
afterwards Married to Richard Best< no role > at the Parish Church of St. Mary
Newington in the County of Surry about the 4th. day of February 1781 by
whom she had one Child Namely Richard Best< no role > aged about two Years
& an half born in Brownlow Street Lying in Hospital and that her said
last mentioned Husband is since dead and that her said last named
Husband informed her that he was a Parishioner of the Parish of St.
Paul Shadwell which Settlement he gained by Renting a House
in the said Parish of St. Paul Shad well and that he never did any Act
to gain any other Settlement. that upon this deponents Applying to
the Parish of Shadwell aforesaid for Releif It was discovered that the
said Richard Best< no role > had another Wife and that She was then living
at Shadwell aforesaid at the time of Deponents Second Marriage
That She then quitted her said last named Husband and worked for
herself for some time That about the 10th. day of October 1783 She
Intermarried with Benjamin Munn< no role > at the Parish Church of
