member for this County, and Chairman of the County Sessions; As Also, (a few
Days after,) with a printed recommendatory Letter from the Clerk of the Peace
of this County, in further testimony of the Court's Approbation of the Motion
of the last Sessions, respecting Surveyors of Parish Highways, within
this County.I presume to imagine, that the Justices of this
Division had not any such printed recommendatory Letter sent to them,
as they did on "Thursday last, the 13th Day of October instant 1785, ("being
"previous to the Michaelmas Sessions;) "Appoint, divers Surveyors
of Parish Highways;- and some of them, are "Publicans.vizt
Mr. Elias Cullifor< no role > , at the Sign of the Duke's Head , at East Bedfont , Victualler ,
(Surveyor for East Bedfont .)

I know of no other way, (to get into the Line of the said printed recommend-
=atory Letter) but, "for the worthy Chairman of the Sessions to be pleased
to look at the Act for the Highways, of the 13th Geo 3d, chap 78,-"whereby,
he will soon see,-"Whether, the Appointment of Surveyors "on
the said 13th Day of October instant, (being "before the Michaelmas
Sessions;) is "premature?, or "valid? If premature;"that
the Justices of this Division , may, (by that Gentleman ,) be requested,
to make "fresh Appointments of Surveyors.

Pray be so obliging, (during the present Sessions,) as to lay this
Letter before the Chairman of the said Sessions, accompanied to him,
with my most respectfull Compliments. who am Sir

Your most humble Servant. Jno Lane< no role > .
