WHEREAS Complaint has been made unto us, two
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for
the County of Middlesex (one whereof being of the
Quorum), by the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the Parish of Chiswick
in the said County, That George Shepperd< no role > Aged about
Thirty five Years and Elizabeth< no role > his Wife
are
lately come into the Said Parish, endeavouring to Settle
there, contrary to Law. And it appeareth unto us the
said Justices, and we do adjudge that they are likely
to become chargeable to the said Parish; and upon Exa-
mination of the Premises taken upon Oath, and other Cir-
cumstances, it further appeareth unto us, and we do like-
wife adjudge, that the Parish of South Benfleet in the
County of Essex
is the Place of the last legal
Settlement of the said George Shepperd< no role > and that
of her said Wife

These are therefore in his Majesty's Name to Charge and
Command the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Chiswick
forthwith to remove and convey the said George Shepperd< no role > and
his said Wife together with Mary< no role > Aged four Years and upwards the
Child of the said Elizabeth for Narture
from the Said Parish of Chiswick
to the Said Parish of Benfleet
and deliver them to the Church-wardens and Overseers
of the Poor there, or to some or one of them, who are
hereby required to provide for them according to Law.
Given under our Hands and Seals the 18th Day
of February1784

To the Church-Wardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Respective Parishes of
Cheswick
in the County of Middlesex , and South Benfleet
in the County of Essex
and to all other Officers whom it may
concern.
