Baltimore House March 7th. 1768.

An Account of what appeared upon opening the Body
of Gibbon late Porter to Lord Baltimore.

Upon the right Breast and Loins, a very Extensive Ex-
-travasation of blood was observable under the Skin, spreading
itself to the Shoulder, to the Arm, & even to the opposite said
of the Body: and the Integuments being divided, the Cellular
membrane in all these parts, appeared loaded with extravasated
and Coagulated blood.

The Thorax being opened, a considerable
quantity, both of fluid and coagulated blood, was found in its
right cavity.

The Seventh, eighth, ninth & tenth Ribs on the right side were frac-
-tured. The seventh in one part only, the eighth in two places
and the ninth in three: the tenth, was only cracked through
its external Cortical plate.

The Heart was very Sound.
One Lobe of the Lungs in the right side of the Thorax , appeared
very black & stuffed up with extravasated blood-The other
Lobe was pretty sound & healthy, but adhered strongly to the
Pleura. The Lungs in the left side were in a very good
state.

The Liver was Dis cased-The Gall Bladder
was also Discased, & contained several Stonly Concretions.

The rest of the Abdominal Viscera, were in
appearance, sound and healthy.
