The Information of Joseph Stevings< no role > House Keeper at £7 P Yr a Blacksmith by Trade and a Licensed Higler.Kidder or Badger
taken upon Oath this 29th Day of March 1767 before us, Two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in & for the Said County.

This Informant Saith that he lives at Working near Winslow in Bucks, and that he set out from London to go home to his
House at Wooving last Monday the 23d Inst. about 2 or 3 of Clock in the Afternoon with his Higling Cart Which was drawn by
two Horses. And that he arrived at Uxbridge in Middx on that Day (Monday) in the Evening about 8 o'Clock and Put up (as he Usually
has done for these 5 Weeks Past) at the House of Mr. Thomas Farmer< no role > at the Sign of the Crown in Uxbridge aforesaid. That his
Cast was Loaded when it Came to Uxbridge with Coals, Empty Hen Coops, Fish Lemons & Orangy and Sunday other things,Also with
a Sugar Loaf which cast him Eighteen Shillings which he bought on that Day (Monday) of a Mr. Carey a Grocer near Newgate
Sheet in London, And the Said Joseph Stevingshed Also in his Said Cart at the Same time 4 Fresh Cod, which cost him 9d Each
Also 13 in Lemons and 7 China Oranges; And that in his way home at Wendover (but not before) he Missed the Sugar Loaf
and two Fish, and when he arrived at Ayles bury on Examination his goods he Missed the other two Fish, the 13 Lemons and
the 7 China Oranges, Whereupon Joseph Stevings< no role > 's Partner one Paul George< no role > Caused a Letter to he wrote to Mr. Thos. Farnner
at Uxbridge to give him an Accst. of what things he had Missed out of his last in his Journey from London, but received
no Answer to his said Letter from Mr. Farmer, Whereupon Yesterday Morning the 28th Ins. (Saturday) the Said Joseph Stevings< no role >
(according to custom) set out from Wooving for London, And When he Came to Mr Farnner's House at Uxbridge which he did
on Saturday last at Night (being Yesterday at Night the 28th Inst. (about one o'Clock in the Night of the Same day When
Joseph Steving arrived at Mr Farmer's on Ye Saturday Night the 28th Inst he went to Bed. And on the Marrow being this
Day Sunday the 29th March in the Morning about 9 o'Clock he Saw a Man one James Saffill who is now (& has been for Some time Past)
a Housekeeper belonging to the Yard of Mr.Farmer's House when Joseph Stevings Partner Mr Paul George made Complaint
to the Said Housekeeper James Saffill telling him has Cart had been robb'd of Goods. The Said James Saffill reflied he
Cou'd give him Information who had robb'd the Cart which he accordingly did, And Said he wou'd be ready to make Oath that
he Saw one John Hawkins< no role > Alias John Farmer< no role > get up on the Wheel of Joseph Stevings Cart this Day for Might being Sunday
Night the 15th Inst about 8 o'Colck at Night and he Saw him take and Steel out of the Said Cast three nearly full Grown Young Fowls
Alive and that he the Said John Hawkins< no role > Alias John Farmer< no role > them under Some Hay and that the Said John Hawkins< no role > otherwise
Farmer had hilled all the Said Towls.
