Saith That Saturday Evening last between nine and Ten. oClock as
he was going up Angel Alley White Chappell in Order to Drink
a Pint of Beer at the City of Norwick in Wentworth Street [..]
[..] he heard a great Noice Upon which he ran as hard as
he could to see what it was And when he Came there he formed [..]
deceased lying upon the Ground and Two Men Beating him
violently with SticksThat when he Came up the said Two Men
were standing on the Other side of the way And this Informant
went up to the deceased who was not then quite Dead However
he Called out to One of the said Men who had been beating the
Deceased And said By God Martin You have killed a Man
(For this Informant Saith he knew One of them to be One
William Martin< no role > a Journeyman Baker and that it was particularly
by his Voice that he knew him) That as soon as he told Martin
he had killed the Man said Martin and the Other Person
went away and met several Other Persons who all Behaved in a
very riotous mannerThat this Informant then Assisted in
getting the deceased Home and afterwards went for Surgeon and
held the Bason while he was BledThat he only Bled three
Drops And the Surgeon said he was a dead Man
That he hath known Martin about three Months and hath played
many Games of Skittles with him And is very sure from the
Voice that Martin was One of the Person that was
