Tredaway Butler< no role > of the parish of Saint
Matthew Bethnall Green in the County of Middx
Baker The Defendant in this Cause Maketh
Oath and Saith That One William Butler< no role > was
(at the time this Deponent was Indicted) a
Servant to him this Deponent And did Work
As Such for him this Deponent And who abt.
Six Months Ago left this Deponents Service
And Went into the Country to Some place
Unknown to this Deponent And this Depont
Upon his Oath Says That the said William
Butler
< no role > is this Deponts, Chief Witness on his
behalf in the two prosecutions now carrying
On Against him in this Court And without
the Benefitt of the said Wm. Butters Testimony
this Deponent is Advised he Cannott be Safe
in proceeding to Tryall in these Causes And
this Deponent Says Upon his Oath That he
has been at great Expences and Trouble in
inquiring and Seeking after the said William
Butler
< no role > But to no purpose hill lately And this
Deponent Says he has within a fortnight past
heard That the said Wm. Butler has Settled himself
at a place called Sotby near Horn castle ins
Lincolnshire And wd by no means get him Up
