The Examination of Anne Corker< no role > of Staines in the said
County of Middx taken upon Oath before me one of his Majesties Justices
of the Peace in and for the said County this twenty Second
day of Decr. 1761

This Examinant upon her Oath Saith that about ten
days Since the discover'd She had lost one pound of
Candles out of her Shop belonging to her dwelling House in Staines aforesaid
and a Ten days afterwards discover'd the had Cost
another pound of Candles and On the Morning of the Same
Day heated Several Pies and put them into the Ends of
Several Candles which the afterwards hung up in her said
Shop and the Morning following discover'd that the same
Candles were taken from the Peace where She the said
Examinant had before hung them up and then Inspected that
Sage Segment the Wife of William Segmorn of Staines
aforesaid Labourer had Stolen the same Candles for that
She the said Sage had been in this Examinant's Shop the
same morning this Examinant miss'd the Same Candles and
of ten times before and this Examinant further saith that
upon such discovery made the applied to the said Thomas
Wood< no role > on the Eighteenth day of this Instant December (having
first made Oath of her Inspicion aforesaid) for a Search
Warrant which was granted by the said Thomas Wood< no role > and
Search was thereupon made by [..] William Stone< no role > Constable of Staines aforesd.
in Company with this Examinant [..] in the Dwelling
House of the Sd. William Seymour< no role > at Staines aforesaid whereupon
the Salm Constable Singed into his Custody about five Pounds of
Candles or thereabouts which He found in a Box in the dwelling
House of the said William Seymour< no role > and the same Candles bring a
new produced before the said Thomas Wood< no role > by the same Constable
