The Information of Ann Summers< no role > Servant to the Right Honble. the Lord Egremont
and Mary Mills< no role > of the Same, taken before me this 20th. Day of March 1760

Mary Mills< no role > being upon Oath says that she came to live with the Right Honble. the Lord
Egremont about the 4th. of Febry last at Petworth in the County of Sussex , that she lay
with one Ann Kepell a fellow Sowant, [..] of this Informants, that [..] during the him
that she lay after be Tax'd with being with Child, but always Strongly Denyed it,
and said it was nothing but a Swelling she had which the Family was Subject to, and
that her Father Dyed of it, Says that the Family came out of Sussex about three Weeks
aged, that soon afterwards this Informt. absorved that the said Ann Keppell was Smaller in
the Waste that she had been, could not tell the meaning of it, but by taking Notice
of the Bad where she lay, made [..] this Informt. [..] beleive that she had [..] delivered of a
Child

Ann Summers< no role > being upon Oath Says, that she has since Ann Kepell came to Town observed
her to be bigg with Child, that soon afterwards this Informt. perceived her to be Smatter
in the Waste, and accordingly acquainted My Lady with what she had observed, that my
Lady sent this Informt. for a Midwife, that as soon as the Midwife came into My Lady
Dressing Room, the said Ann Kepell< no role > This name instance is in set 406. This set is in the group(s): MothersPS . was ordered to come up Stains, to Says that she was present when my
Lord asked the said Ann Kepell whether she had a Child or not, to which she answered
No, Upon which she was ordered to go up Stairs with the Midwife and three of
the Maid Servants to be Examined, and whilct they were going up Stains, the said ann
Kepell all of a Sudden Stept, and said that they need not give themselves any more
trouble that it was, [..] so, to which the Midwife said to her you have had a Child which
she Answered Yes, Says that thereupon My Lady asked her where she had put it, she
toldtold My Lady in a Pond in the Park, and this Informt. further says that the said
Ann Kepell< no role > was soon afterwards Carryed before Mr. Justice Fielding in order to be
Examined, that upon her Examination she Confess'd in the presence and hearing of
this Informt. that the Child was in Lock'd up in a Box in the Leullery and accordingly
Delivered the Key to this Informt. where she found the Child all patisfyed
Says that she likewise Confess'd it had been [..] in the Box near afortonight, and that it was borndead,
