Labour in Person or by deputy for and towards the repairing the Highways in the Parish aforesaid in the year one thousand seven hundred and thirty Eight as they are severally
by Law Obliged And Whereas all and every of the Persons whose names are above written have been summoned to attend us in order to offer some reasonable Excuse
for their respective default did either neglect to attend upon the said Summons or did not produce any such Excuse as aforesaid [..] whereby
they have each of them forfeited the sum of One shilling and Six Pence for such day they have Respectively made default
These are therefore in his Majesties name to Authorize and require you the said Surveyors of the Highways
or either of you to Levy the respective
sums of money hereafter mentioned upon the respective goods of the said several Persons rendering the Overplus reasonable charges for distrainng being first deducted that is
