the Petrs. therefore prayed that this Court would be pleased
to discharge the said Christopher Cox< no role > and appoint the
said George Ingram< no role > or James Sharples< no role > in the room
the matter of which peticon wasthe hearing and
determining the matter of which peticon stood
adjourned by the said Court untill this twenty third
day of February instant , And whereas Thomas Lewis< no role > Curate John Pain< no role > Churchwardens Samuel Ellis< no role >
Constable and Thomas Ellis< no role > Henry Twyford< no role > Nathaniel
Reed
< no role > & divers other persons alsoe Inhabitants of the said
parish of Willdon have [..] exhibited their humble peticon
unto this Court on the said twenty third day of February
instant setting forth that severall Roads at Wilsdon Green ,
Mapes Lane , Millway & Lower place in the sd parish of
Wilsdon are very much out of repaire and in a
ruinous condicon soe that the Inhabitants who hold
very considerable Farms there cannot without great
difficulty & danger pass there with the horses & teams
And that Christopher Cox< no role > who lives at Wilsdon Green &
who is a considerable Farmer there and neare those places
where the Roads are soe defective and who is one of the
persons now appointed one of the Overseers of the high
ways of the said parish the Petrs. are very well assured
will take offectuall caret to repaire & amend the sd. Roads so out
of repaire as aforesaid And the Petrs. thereofore pray
that the sd. Christopher Cox< no role > may not be turned out ofhis
the said Office, but may serve the [..] same, according to
the usual time, whereupon and on hearing of what
was alledged on either side It is ordered by this Court
that the hearing & determining the matter of both
the said peticons be and the same is hereby
adjourned untill the next Generall Quarter Sessions
of the peace to be holden for this County, by adjornmt.
on Tuesday the seventh day of April next at ten of
the clock in the forenoon, andthethat the same be
then heard together, And that the Churchwardens
Overseers of the poor & antient Inhabitants of the said
parish of Wilsdon who are usually present at the eleccon
of Parish Officers there and alsoe the sd Christopher Cox< no role >
