Whereas Complaint hath been made
unto us two of His Majties. Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middlsex (Quo: unus) by the
Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Edgeware in the Said County That
Charles Batman< no role > and Frances Batman< no role > his
Wife are lately come into ye Said Parish Endevoring
to Settle there Contrary to Law, and it appeareth
unto us the Said Justices that they are likely to
become Chargeable to the Said Parish and Whereas
upon the Examincon of the Said Chas. Batman< no role > taken
upon Oath it farther Appeareth unto us and wee
do Adjudge that the Parish of Aldenham
in the Live. of St. Albans in the County of Hertford
is the place of the Last legall Settlement of the
Said Chas. Batman< no role > , and do therefore in His
Majties. Name Charge and Command the
Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Edgeware forthwith to remove & Convey
the Said Chas. Batman< no role > and Frances< no role > his Wife
from the Sd. Parish of Edgeware to the Said Parish
of Aldenham in the Libt. of St. Albans in ye County
of Hertford and Deliver them to the Church Wardens
and Overseers of the Poor there or to Some or One
of them who are hereby required to receive them into
their Care and to provide for them According to Law
Given under our hands and Seals the 28th Day
of February Anne Dom 1725/6 [..]

To the Churchwardens and Overseers of ye Poor
of the Parish of Edgeware in the County Middx.
and to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of Aldenham in the Libt. of Saint
Albans in the County of Hertford and to all
Other Officers whome it may Concern
