The Examination of John Peny< no role > taken
before the Rt. Honoble. the Ld. Lucas &
others of his Maties. Justices of the
Peace for the County of Middx on
Tuesday the 23d. of March 1696/7

This Examinant sayth that upon Sonday last
he being at Mr. Williams his meeting house & coming
thence he met a Person whose name he cannot
certainly tell, but he believes it to be Thomas Hewet< no role > [..]
& this Examint. can direct any person where
he is to be found, This Person told the Examt.
that there was an Address to be made to the
King on the behalf of the Weavers , to wch.
this Examt. replay'd that he was very glad of
it

That upon the Day following he went into London fields
in Order to gett the said Address compleated, but with
no design to Encourage the Mob nor to disturb the
Publick peace, and that as soon as he perceived they
design'd to be Mutinous, be immediately left them and
went home, nor was he over concern'd many of their
Assemblies, but once was with them at the Parliament
house And further saith not.
