The Examination of Samewa

Aprill 1695

That on Sunday the 7th. Instant John Gee< no role >
having got about Six pence in farthings Bess
Pen
< no role > would have it from him and because he
would not give it to her she tyd a Rankercher
about his Rock and almost throtled him and
ded take the farthings out of his perket
and then unlyd the Rankercher wch. was
So hard tyd that he Cookt black in the face
and she can away and left him and this Inform
ant begd some hot drinks for the said Gee and
then he recovered, this was in spring Garden
near Buckingham Court.

That on fryday Morning last the 12th. Instant
the said Bess Pen< no role > came to this Informant
in Covent Garden and told him Irishman
Punch is dead upon wch. he said you have
Choackt him then and she said heas because
he would not give her some Money he had got
and he would not beleeve the Child was dead
and went with her to spring Garden where
she said she had left him covered up wth. hay
and there in a Celler window they found the
Child Dead.
