Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us whose
hands and seals are hereunto set, Two of their
Majesties Justices of Peace of the County of Middlx [mark]
(Quorum unns) by the Church Wardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Hamblet of Bethnall green wth: in
the pth. of Stepny in the said County that Mary
Greethurste
< no role > wife of Thomas Greethurste< no role > dec'd with
two Children viz Anne< no role > and the other not Christner
is Latly come into the said hamblet endeavouring to
settle herselfe and Children there without giving
Notice in Writing to the said Church wardens or
Overseers of the Poor or any one of them of the
house of herabode in the said Hamblet
according to the Statute in that Case made and
provided and that the fd Mary and her two
Children are Likely to become chargeable to the said
Hamblet and whereas it appeareth unto us the said
Justices upon the oath of the said Mary Greethurste< no role > that
her husband Thomas was last legally settled in the
parish of St Peters in the Citty of Canterbury where
he was an Apprentice with Peter Endway< no role > weaver
and never had any other legall settlement since
These are therefore in & Their Majesties name strictly
to Charge and Command you and every of gone for [..]
upon sight hereof to remove and convey the said
Mary Greethurste< no role > together with her two Children from
the said Hamblet off Bethnall green wthin the parish
of stepney in the said County and so from Constable
to Constable, the next and directest way to the said
parish of St Peters wthin the Citty of Canterbury above
mentioned and deliver them unto the Church Wardens
and Overseers of the Poor there, who are hereby
required to provide for them according to law : Hereof
fail not at your perils Given under our Hands and Seals
