September 1800.

Who says that Copping a Fine in the Prison
William Sully< no role > , James Thomas< no role > , George Henry< no role > Tanner

Smith also Prisoners propossed last night to make the
Alarm, togather a Mob round the Prison to rescue them
out and make it as a free Gaol the meaning of which was
that their Friends should come in and their Letters go
without interception, some of them asked how they should
make the Alarm and it was agreed they should call out
"Starving alive in the Bastille; Examinent sleeps in
the same Gallery, they were all in seperate Cells at the
time this conversation took place.except Smith and
Edwards who slept together.

Examinant never heard any conversation with
any of these Persons himself and they agreed to be the
Death of any Person who should discover anything
what was said, they agreed not to be confined in the
Chapel and that they would not pick any Oakum
but as soon as the Keeper was gone they would throw
it out of Window, that heard several of them say that
their Allowance was not sufficient to keep them in
Existence, they have a pound of bread Per Day and
five Ounces of Meat every other Day and a pot of truth
every other Day, they don't have Meat for each
the Pot holds near three Pints that is the Allowance
except sometimes they have an overplus, they talked
of getting up to the Windows to see if any Mob assembled
and some of them did get up, Edwards and Sully got up and
they said there was a crowd of People gathering round and
then was the time to make the Alarm, one Copping said
that was right, we should give three Huzzas and Lay
"Starving alive", William Sully< no role > said well call out bloody
"Murder". three times, which was done, We heard the
clash of Tongues without but could not hear what
was said, Thomas said as Night was drawing on
and they could not see the People, they would remain
quiet till Twelve,o' Clock and if he waked then he would
alarm the rest, but he did not, in the Morning they
agreed to defer it till this Night and afterwards till
Sunday Night when more People would be wacking
about, upon being being asked how he came to make this
Information he say's in the Morning he informed the
