April 1798.

Resolved That the House for the Governor
of the House of Correction be Executed under the
direction and Inspection of Mr.. Rogers the County
Surveyor and that as a part of the Workmanship
is intended to be performed by the Prisoners in
the House of Correction That Mr.. Rogers be allowed
his Commission on the sum of £650. being the
Gross amount of the Estimate including the
Work proposed to be done by the Prisoners

By adjournment same Day

Mr.. Rogers laid before the Court an
Estimate of the Expence of repairing Baber Bridge
on Hounslow Heath in its present State amounting
to £68..4s..0d. and also an Estimate according
to Order for making the said Bridge more safe
and Commodious to the Publick stating that the
Expence attending that alteration would amount
to the further sum of £118..12s..0d, Resolved
That Mr.. Rogers Estimate for improving the said
Bridge be submitted to the Consideration of the
Trustees of the Turnpikes East and West of the
said Bridge and that they be requested to signify
to his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the peace for this County
whether they are willing to Contribute to the
Expence of improveing the said Bridge.

Resolved That the Bridge be repaired
in its present form unless the Trustees of the
Turnpikes are willing to Contribute to the
Expence of the improved Plan
