of Two Pounds Six Shillings and Six pence Expended by them as aforesaid,
Now forasmuch as it appeareth to this Court upon Oath that the said
Sum was necessarily expended by the Inhabitants of the said Parish for the
lying in and Maintenance of the said Mary Evans< no role > and Child This Court by
Virtue of the Statute in such Case made Doth Order that Mr. John Higgs< no role >
Treasurer of this County do reimburse and Pay to the Petitioners or One of
them the said Sum of Two pounds Six Shillings and Six pence Which
this Court doth Adjudge to be a Reasonable Satisfaction for the Charges of
the Lying in and Maintenance of the Said Mary Evans< no role > & Child; And that
the Receipt of the Petitioners or One of them together with this Order
or a True Copy thereof shall be a Sufficient Discharge to the Said Treasurer
for such payment.

agt. Spiritous
Liquors. }

That the Drinking of Geneva and other
Distilled Spirituous Liquors has for some Years last past greatly
encreased, Especially among the People of Inferior Rank.

That the constant and Excessive use thereof as now practiced hath already destroyed
thousands of his Majesty< no role > 's Subjects, and renders great Numbers of Others
unfit for usefull Labour and Service, Debauching at the Same time
their Morals and driving them into all manner of Outrages and
Breaches of the Peace .

That this Penicions Liquor is now Sold not Only by
Distillers and Geneva Shops byt by Many Other Persons of Inferior
Trades by which Means Journeymen Apprentices and Servants
are drawn into a Constant & Excessive drinking thereof.

That Your Petitioners Apprehend the publick Wellfare
and safety as well as the Trade of the Nation is greatly Affected by it;
That this practice is also dangerous and mischievous to the
