Middlesex to Wit


The Information of John Hickford< no role > of Little Brickhill
in the County of Bucks Labourer and Edward Hatt< no role > on
of the Same place Schoolmaster taken before one this
8th. day of June 1787

Who being upon Oath say, and first the said John Hickford< no role >
says that he was a Marine on board the Triumph for about two
YearsThat he went on board her at Chatham and went in her
to the West Indies at which time a person now present who calls
himself Richard Ramsbottom< no role > was a Corporal of Mariner on
board the Triumph whilst he was on board of herThat he this
Informant cannot write nor ever signed his Mark in his Life
to any [..] Instrument whatsoeverAnd further says that he was
not a Witness to the Will now produced nor did he ever Witness any
other Will in his LifeAnd the said Edward Hatton< no role > for himself
says that he hath know the said John Hickford< no role > for upwards of
twenty Five Years and that he always understood and doth verily
believe that he said Hickford can neither write nor read
