Thomas Weston< no role > of Thames Street in the Parish of Saint Botolph
Billingsgate London Salt Merchant Robert Mc.Elroe of the precinct of
Saint Catherine in the County of Middlesex Master of the Ship or Vessel called
The Isabella and MatthewMc.Mullan of the same place Mate
of the said Ship or Vessel severally make Oath and first the said Robert
McElroe for himself saith that on or about the Eleventh day of
September last Eighty seven Tons or Three thousand Four hundred and
Eighty Bushels of English refined Salt were shipped on board the said
Ship or Vessel at Liverpool in the County of Lancaster and cleared there
in order to be conveyed by Sea to the port of London for and on Account
of the said Thomas Weston< no role > and of Richard Guiger< no role > Thomas Hade< no role > , William
Brown William Hill< no role > Christopher Peck< no role > and Richard West< no role > of London
Salt Merchants the Owners of the said Salt And these Deponents the said
Robert McElore and MatthewMc.Mullen for themselves severally
say that on or about the Twenty first day of the said Month of September
the said Ship or Vessel being then in good condition and well filled
for the said intended Voyage set Sail from Liverpool aforesaid for the
said Port of London but by reason of contrary Winds afterwards put into
the Harbour of Hoylake in Cheshire where she continued until the third
day of October last when she sailed from thence and on the fourth day of
the said Month of October the said Ship or Vessel in the Course of her
said intended Voyage met with storney weather which continued
to increase untill the seventh day of the said Month of October when
the said Ship or Vessel being at Sea about seven Miles distant from
Start Point the Weather because more violent and Stormy and so
continued until the Eight day of the said Month of October By reason
of which violent and stormy Weather the Sea ran very high and made
a passage over the said Ship or Vessel and occasioned her to Over set
on one side and by means thereof the Sea ran into the Hold of the
said Ship or Vessel and Damaged the said Cargo of Salt and they
these Deponents were obliged to have both pumps belonging to
the Ship worked for the preservation of the said Ship or Vessel and the
