this twenty fourth day

Who saith that in Consequence of Information
received by him from John Roberts< no role >
Esquire
of
Duke Street Westminster
that a Letter containing
a Stourbridge
Bank Note For Five Guineas was
sent by the Post From Oxford on the twenty Fifth of
June last by Mr. James Roberts< no role >
of that City directed
to the said John Roberts< no role >
but was not received by
him and that the Note had been presented for
payment at Sir James Esdaill< no role >
's &Co. (who had been
cautioned not to pay the same) by Messrs. Smith Wright
and Gray who had received it of Mr. William Craze< no role >
of Holborn Hill
London this Informant on the eighth
day of July last called upon the said William Craze< no role >
to know of whom he received the said Note and was
informed by the said William Craze< no role >
that he received
it of Roger Nott< no role >
of Field Lane
and that Nott informed
him he received it of John Mills< no role >
the Person now
Present then one of the Letter Carriers belonging to
the General Post Office
And this Informant further
saith he the same day called upon the said Roger
Nott and was by him informed that he received the
said Note of the said John Mills< no role >
on Saturday Night
the third day of the said July whereupon this Informant
thought it necessary to question the said John Mills< no role >
as
to this Transaction and for that Purpose desired the
said John Mills< no role >
(whom this Informant met within
Holborn delivering Letters on the said eighth of
July) to come to this Informants Chambers in
Grays Inn
which he immediately did And this
Informant there asked the said John Mills< no role >
where
he got the said Note who told this Informant that
during the Time of his resiging his Bell on Saturday
