Gentleman
severallyandmakethOath and say and first this Deponent Edward Perrott< no role >
saith that he is intirely unprepared to take his trial this present
Sessions on account of Mrs. Smailes who is a material Witness being
at Ostend
and not being in England And this Deponent further saith [..]
after his being taken into Custody he dispatched a Letter to the said Mr.
Smails one of his said Witnesses who reside there in order to attend his trial
but has not received any answer to his said Letter And this Deponent
further saith that he hath sent to William Harley< no role >
who is also a material
Witnesse for this Deponent and resides in Coleman Street
and the said William
Harley not being in London as this Deponent is informed and verily believes
he it totally unprepared to take his trial nor can he without their
Testimony particularly the Evidence of the said William Harley< no role >
Asserts
his Innocence which by their Testimony will fully appear and this Deponent
further saith he shall be able to procure their attendance by the next Sessions
And this Deponent Philip Leary< no role >
for himself saith that he did
at the special Instance and request of the said Edward Perrott< no role >
make true and diligent Enquiry after the above named William Harley< no role >
at his Lodgings in Coleman Street
where the said William Harley< no role >
usually lived and resided as this Deponent is informed and believes
And this Deponent further saith that he was informed by the
Woman
with whom the said William Harley< no role >
Lodged that he was
not in London nor was he expected for some time which Deponent
believes to be true.
