James Clark< no role > of Garlick Hill London Merchant one of the prosecutors in this
Cause maketh Oath and saith that on the fourteenth Day of February
Instant the said Joseph Wray was Committed for feloniously Stealing
Thirty Pounds Weight of Indigo the Property of this Deponent and
his Partners William Hanson< no role > , Henry Hanson< no role > , and James Hanson< no role > an
the said Thomas Taylor was also committed for feloniously receiving the
said Indigo knowing the same to be Stolen And this Deponent saith that
Lydia Jamison< no role > who lately lived as a Servant with one Mrs. Knight in
Fishmongers Alley in Southwark is as this Deponent hath been advised
and verily believes a material Witness against the said Prisoners touching
the said Felonies for which they stand Committed as aforesaid and that
without the benefit of the Testimony of the said Lydia Jamison this
Deponent and his said Partners cannot as he is advised and [..]
believes Prosecute the said prisoner with Effect at this present Session
for the said Felonies And this Deponent saith that he hath since the
said Prisoners were so committed made diligent Enquiry after the said
Lydia Jamison in order to procure her to appear as a Witness against
the said prisoners at this present Session but this Deponent saith that
he hath not been above to discover where the said Lydia Jamison is to be
met with And lastly this Deponent saith that he will aso his utmost
Diligence to find out the said Lydia Jamison and hopes and verily
believes he shall be above to procure her to appear as a Witness
against the said prisoners at the next Session to be held for the
City of London.
