John Ayliffe< no role > And this Examinant further Saith that he this
Informant wrote and Sent an Answer to the said John Ayliffe< no role >
by the said Charles Pottle< no role > purporting that this Informant had
sent him back the said Lease for that it was not safe to raise
any money upon it as this Informant was persuaded that the
Same was forged And this Informant further Saith That he
this Informant delivered the said Deed or Parchment writing
to the said Charles Pottle< no role > tobeingcarry back to the said John Ayliffe< no role >
but the said Charles Pottle< no role > refused to carry the same but left it
in this Informants hand And this Informant further Saith
that he this Informant some time afterwards received from
the said John Ayliffe< no role > another Letter dated May 30th: 1759.
directed to Mr Lodge at Uffcott near Broad Hinton Wilts If
not at home to be Sent him imediately be where he will and
Subscribed I Ayliffe (and which last Letter was also as
this Informant verily believes of the proper hand writing of the
said John Ayliffe< no role > ) And this Informant Saith that he deth verily
believes that the said Deed or Parchment writing was and is a
flase forged and Counter feited Deed he this Informant having
formerly seen in the hands or possession of the said John
Ayliffe a Lease of the Same premisses from the Said Henry Fox< no role >
to the said John Ayliffe< no role > at and under the yearly rent of Thirty
five pounds And that the said false forged and Counter feited
Deed was so published to this Informant with an Intent to
defrand Walter Gilmore< no role > of Marlborough in the said County of
Wilts Stationer andGilmore of Marlborough a foresaid
Baker in the said first mentioned Letter named or described as this
Informant verily believes by the Words (the Gilmore) or one of them
of three hundred pounds And these Informants John Fannen< no role >
