To the Rt Hon Marshe Dickinson< no role > Esqr Lord Mayor of the City of
London and the Rest of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the
Same City in their General Quarter Session Assembled

The Humble Petition & Appeal of the Church
Wardens & Overseers of the poor of the Parish
of Romford in the County of Essex .

Sheweth


That by an Order or pass Warrt. under the hands & Seals
of the Rt Worshipful Francis Cokayne< no role > Esqr & Slingsby Bethell< no role > Esqr
two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the City of London & the [..] thereof
(one of them being of the Quorum) bearing Date the 22d. Day
of June last past Ann< no role > the Wife of Thomas Hawkins< no role > therein
mentioned to be a Sailor in his Majties Service and their two
Children Ann< no role > aged 4 Years & John< no role > Aged 2 years were
afterward vizt. on the 7th. Instant & not before removed
from the Parish of St Alphage in London into the sd. Parish
of Romford as the place of the last legal Settlemt. of the sd.
Thos. Hawkins< no role > Ann his Wife & their said two Children.

That Your Petitioners humbly Conceive themselves
aggrieved by the Premes And therefore Appeal to this
honourable Court And pray such releif in the same
as shall Seen meet

And for-as-much as Your Petitioners have not
been enabled (by reason of the Shortness of the time Since
Such removal) to give due Notice of this Appeal and
prepare themselves to have the Same Determined at this
present Session they humbly pray the benefit thereof
may not be lost And also that it may stand Adjourned
until the next Genl Quarter Session then to be heard.
