The Examinacon, and Confession of Thomas Higgs< no role > duly
taken before me Saith

That on Wednesday Morning last abt. teh Hour of Two a Clock he this
Examinant together with John Gunn< no role > who [..] s at a Smiths Shop
near Fleet Ditch Londonagreed to goe to a Wharf at the Old Swan
Londonin Order to Steal Iron & accordingly they went and took
Two Barrs weighing abt. Forty pound and then they went to the next
Wharf called Dyers Wharf and tooke Five Barrs of Iron from thence
weighing about a Hundred Wight which Iron they intended to carry
to the said Gunnis House at Fleet Ditch aforesd. but was surprised by
the Watchman belonging to the next Wharf wch. oblidged them to
leavethe sd.part under the Shore & part in this Examinants wherry
and they made their Escape. And this examinant further saith
that he and the said Gunn have frequently Stolen Iron from
the said Wharfs and the sd. Gunn gave this Examinant his share and
gott the sd. Iron [..] workt up And this Examinant further
Saith that John Gander< no role > & the have frequently been concerned
in Stealing Iron from the sd. Wharfe for the Space of Three or
Four years last and the sd. Gander pd. this Examinant his Share
and he work't the sd. Iron up himself being a Smith And further
this Examinant [..] saith that he this Examinant and the sd.
Gander have sold sevall parcells of the sd. Iron to Wm. Bryley< no role > on
the Bankside Southwark Smith he well knowing the same to be by
them Stolen
