have his money in May or June he stell
presd me & desir'd I would come up to his
house at 3 a Clock at wch. time he would
get me to goe to the Bane & receives
money of a Note & said he would demonstrate
to mehow That he couldhouse asi [..] t peas to got [..] money by takeing the Indorsemt
& howeason his imperturity I told him of
would come up meaning only thereby to get sd
of his company) wch by that means I did &
a Porter yt breifness had hapte'd & I couldnt
possibly come up

Seeing him about 9 days after he askd
me why I would not come I told him
I had taller consider'd of ye matter & was resolvd
never to be concern'd & advis'd him to
Desist from such can under taking wth broke
of all Talk of ye matter at ye time after
this & before ye 2d of Aprill he moke
again to me of it & had ye same Answer
Coming to his house on satterday ye 2d of Aprill
I ask at [..] after being wth him some
time
to ask him to sap wth me at
Freinds house on a Hare Reg consented
to it & going along wth [..] rein Paul
mentiond the affair again in So Pauls
Church Yard & Shew'd me a Note wch. I
took to be a bank Note but afterwoods
found it a swrod blade Companys Note
wch he hadout of wth. he said & Shewd me
that he had taken a letters of red Ink

from of black letters & coulo take out the
whole Indorsemt. I bid him speak no further
of it [..] ther for on Tuesday I would come
to him by wch. time I would fully determine
what to doe in ye affair & this I did
intentionally to take advice whether I
should discover him or no

On Sunday [..] in ye Evening going to a
Freind in whom I had a confidence I
discover'd to him how I had been attempted to be
cormpted & desir'd his advice in the affair
particularly upon the a difficulty I was under
of being an Informet agst. a person I had
some Intimacy wthmy Treiupon the whole
my Heinds advice was that I should
nert aske in ye Guilt It I did not discover
wch consenting to my Freind said he would
mention it the next morning to Mr Deston
wth whom he was accquainted & did accordingly.
doe toas he [..] & return'd telling
me yt Mr. Diston & he thought that it
was necessary for ye better discovery of the
matter to goe to him on Tuesday & feign
to come into it; in order to be witness of
an expenmt.

On Tuesdaygoing toI went to
his house & on his mentioning it, to me
again I desirt to see how he did it when
he took me up in his closet & shew'o
one of wchhe told he had catwas fair
to the sight yet he told me the he had taken
