The Information of Elizabeth Remshaw< no role > Singlewoman
at the house of Ann< no role > the Wife of Luke Johnson< no role > of New Gravel
lane Shadwell and John Johnson< no role > of Newcastle upon Tyne sailer
Taken this 13th day of Feb 1789 Who being on their Oaths say and first the said
Elizabeth Remshaw< no role > for herself saith she rents aforneshed lodging having a
Room to herself in the said house That this night between the hours of Seven and
Eight she left her said room which was safe locked and the Windows railed
down The Cotton Stockings produced lay on the said says she returndin
about a Quarter of an hour discovering one of the said Windows open and
the person present who says his name is William Hunter< no role > behind part
of the Shutter of the said Window in the Yard and a Mangetting over the
pails on her crying out ThiefsThat she with the assistance of
John Johnson< no role > secured William Hunter< no role > and saw the said Stockings
taken out of his Bosem by George Foreister< no role > And on Examinings
the Room found a pure of Glass Boghe and nails drown of the Wind our andsaid Bed withthe Bedding tyed up [..] in the said Yard
for taking away and the Bed bundled up ready for taking away

Luke John Johnson< no role > on his Oath saith this night between the hour of seven
and Eight as he was coming up New Gravel lane Shadwell he
heard Elizabeth Remsham< no role > cry Thiefs Thiefs he run to her Assistance
and found her having hold of William Hunter< no role > That he assisted her
andwhilst she went for a Constable That George Foreister< no role > came and
Searched him and found in his Breast under his Shirt the Stockings
producedThat a pure of Glap in one of the Wind our appeard to
him to have been broken and that the less hand bloody of the said William

George Foreister< no role > on his oath saith this night about the hour of Eight
Elizabeth Ramshaw< no role > came to him saying her house had been broke open and had
got one of the people that he went with her to her lodging where was John Johnson< no role > who
had hold of Wm Hunter< no role > That he searched him and found on his Bosom neat his skin the
Stockings produced which Ramsham said was her property

George Foreister< no role >

William Hunter< no role > says he had not any becomplete that he
found the Stockings produced in the Yard doth not know how
he came by the Bruize on his left handThat he did not touch
The Bed or Bedding at all that he got over the pails into the
said Yard to ease himself

Taken used and declared to be the truth
