The Examinations of William Street< no role > and John
Maidwell

William Street< no role > saith he is a Carter and did drive for
Mr. Root and Yesterday went with a Waggon of his said
Masters to fetch corn from Narrow Street Limehouse
to the new Distil house in Stratford that he went once
and took in Forty Sack, and went with it in the forenoon
that Abraham George< no role > Was at the second loading of the
said Waggon as aforesaid. That himself was not at the lo [..]
said Waggon nor did he drive it nor was he present at the delivery
of it nor did he Stop or was he at the Artichoke Yesterday
afternoon when the said Waggon Stopt there nor doth he
know anything of the said two Sacks of Barley

John Maidwell< no role > saith he is Watchman to Mrs. Scot That Yesterday
Morning Josh a Carter of his said Mistress asked him to go with him
to Limehouse to lend him a hand to load Barley says he went with
him and took in Thirty Quarters of Barley which they delivered
at the New Still house Stratford that they went for another
load that he cannot say how many Sacks they took in the second load
that he came with the said Driver from Limehouse with the last
load to the sign of the Artichoke at Mile End where he had a Glass
of Peppermint that he doth not know of any Sack being taken out
of the said Waggon says he went from the Artichoke with the said
Josh until they came to Bow Bridge that he doth not know
of any Sacks being taken out of the said Waggon says there were
three fell out on the Road which were picked up by himself
the said Josh and William Street< no role > and one Abraham George< no role > which
Two last mentioned men were with Mrs. Roots Waggon That said
Waggons with the Drivers Met near an Open Church Yard and came
together to the Artichoke and from thence in the afternoon as
aforesaid
