The Information of Sarah Elland against Solomon

Thomas Ellund her Husband taken before us John
Hughes
< no role > and Samuel Hawkins< no role > Esquire two of His
Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the
tried County the Sixth day of November 1789
with the Examination of the Prisoner

Sarah the Wife of Thomas Eland< no role > of Union Street in
the Hamlet of Male End Old Town in the said County
Chandler on her Oath Saith that between Eight and
nine o'Clock his Morning the Prisoner present who
says his Name is Solomon Isaacs came into her
Shop in Union Street aforesaid andbrought and
for
asked for a farthing Worth of Sand that whilst
the was Measuring the same he went into the Oath
Parlour that on Putting the Jane into his Apron the
Suspected he had Stole Somethingthatand thereupon
put her hand in his Apron and found he had got
the Watch now produced which is the Property
of her Husband and of the Value of Twenty Shillings
That she took the sd Watch from the said Solomon
Isaacs
< no role > & [..] thereupon he pushed her down and ran
out but was apprehended in the Street.

Saith that the said Sarah Eland< no role > this Morning Served
him with a Farthing worth of Sand that the put the
Same in his Apron and [..] immediately took
a Watch from his said Apron saith that he does not
know how the said Watch came there unless the put
it therein with the sand
