The Information of Elizabeth Soper< no role > Housekeeper
to Benjamin Keen< no role > of Kensington Collector of
Stamp duties taken on Oath before me this 27th.
day of August 1789.

Who being on Oath says that on Sunday the 19th. day
of July last Henry Webber< no role > now present Dined with Mr Keen at
his house at Kensington and upon Mr Webbers coming in
and being a little after the appointed time for Dinner Mr
Keen took his Metal Watch which then and usually lay on the
Mantle Piece in the Parlour down to shew Mr Webber that
he was after his time since which period this Informant
hath never seen the said Watch, that Mr Keen and Mr Webber
continued together 'till about half past Seven oClock in the
Evening when they went away, that about eleven oClock
that Night, before Mr Keen returned being desirous to know
what oClock it was, she went to said Mantle piece to examine
the Watch when she found it gone, that immediately upon this
Mr Keen knocked at the door and Informant let him in when
he asked her what oClock it was, the Church Clock at that time
Striking Eleven when she replied it was Eleven that Informant
then told said Mr Keen, that she had, just been into the Parlour
to see what oClock it was by the Watch and that it was not
there Mr Keens replied not there Informant replied no it is
not there, that they both then went to the Mantle piece to look for
said Watch but it was not to be found, that Informant then
proposed to Mr Keen to examine the house to see whether
any thing else was gone which they did and found all safe
And this Informant further says that from the time of Mr
Keen and Mr Webber sitting down together to dinner
