The Information of Joseph Perrin< no role > of the
Cock pit Coffee house St. James's Victualler
Samuel Mayner< no role > , Ralph Holmes< no role > , Eleanor
Vandenbergh
< no role > , and Mary Vandenbergh< no role > taken
on Oath before me this 4th. day of May 1789.

Who being on Oath severally say and first the said Joseph Perrin< no role >
for himself says That on Thursday Eveng. the 16th. day of April last past
about half past eight o Clock as he was going down Constitution Hill he
was met by three men who appeared to be Soldiers Who seized hold of
him by his Throat and told him if he made any noise they could Murder
him That said three persons then Robbed him of Silver Watch a Seal
two keys Six pence and the Handkerchief now produced by Ralph Holmes< no role >
That after Robbing him and they had gone a few paces one of them whom
he believes to be Richard Humphreys< no role > now present turned round and
said 'If you make any noise We'll come back an Murder yo.
That he is very sure the Handkerchief now produced is the Handkerchief
of which he was Robbed And verily beleives that the said Richard
Humphreys
< no role > together with William Bromfitand Charles Ankle< no role >
now present are the three persons who robbed him as aforesaid
And the said Samuel Mayner< no role > for himself says that on friday night
last at about nine o Clock he saw the said Charles. Ankle Come out
of the Green Park and go into Hyde Park , that Jeremiah Butterfield< no role > was
following him And he then apprehended them both That a few minutes
after he met the said William Brumfitand Richard Humphreys< no role >
coming up Constitution Hill together and upon Brumfithe found
the Duplicate now Produced of an Handkerchief pawned for Six pence
at Mrs. Vandenberg's in Kings Street Westminster . And two Shillings and
Six pence in bad Silver but found nothing material upon either of the
rest. And the said Ralph Holmes< no role > for himselfsays that the Linnen
Handkerchief now produced by him he received out of Pawn from Mrs.
Vaundenberghin King Street Westminster on Saturday morning last by
a Duplicate given him by Samuel Mayner< no role > . And the said Eleanor
Vanderbergh for herself says that she is a Pawnbroker in King Street
Westminster that the Handkerchief now produced she received in Pledge
on Monday last from as she verily believes Elizabeth Davis< no role > now
present to whom she lent Six pence and gave the Duplicate now
produced And the said Mary Vandenbergh< no role > for herself says
