The Examination of Charles Johnson< no role >
charged with Felony by William Hall< no role >
of the Parish of Saint James in the City
[..] of and Liberty of Westminster
; and taken before me Nicholas Bond< no role > Esquire
one of his MAJESTY's Justices of the Peace for the said City
and Liberty County of Middlesex ,this 29th Day of April
17 86

Who saith that he is 27 Years of Age that he was born
in Ratcliffe Highway that he was bred a Blacksmith that he
now Keeps a Blacksmiths Shop in Ratcliffe Highway that he Keeps
a House at Cockhill Bishopsgate Street he never saw the two
Persons now present who call themselves John Jones< no role > and Henry Leo< no role >
alias Levi< no role > till they were apprehended with himthat he is not
the Person who was standing at the Door in Hanover Square as
mentioned in the Information of William Hall< no role > that he met said
Jones by chance near Mary bone Fields who told him that a Man
whom he never saw before, asked him to carry the Basket of
Linen, and it being heavy requested this Examinant to
assist him in carrying it, which he did
