The Information of Elizabeth Cowen< no role > taken upon Oath before
two William Black< no role > borow Esqr . one of His Majesty's Justices of
the Peace in and for the said County this 14th. day of May
One thousand Seven Hundred and Eight Four,

This Informant upon her Oath Saith that on Wednesday the
26th. day of April last past at about the Hour of Ten in the forenoon
She this Informant went [..] into the Lebecks Head a public House
in Dorington Street Brooks Market She being sent for the Night
before by Mrs. Marshall the Landlady but could not then go. That
when this Informant went into the said Public House Mrs. Marshall
shewed this Informant Seven pair of Womens Shoes and told this
Informant that they was left by a Man the Night before that soon
after the Man came that Mrs. Marshall called him by the Name
of Barney and it since appears that his Name is Barwick Holmes< no role >
And this Informant further saith that she bought five pair of the said
Shoes of the said Barwick Holmes for which She gave him One
Guinea in Gold and two Shillings in Silver and that the said Mrs.
Marshall Holmes either Ten or Eleven Shillings for them
