The Information of Elizth. Marshall< no role >
Singlewoman and William Borrill< no role >
Labr taken before me one of His
Majesty's Justices of the Peace Acting
in and for the said County the fourth
day of January 1784

Who being on their Oaths say and first the said
Elizth. Marshall for herself saith that she
lives in one of the Old Alms houses on Mile
End Road up Stairs, That her Father lives below
in the same House That on Saturday the
first day of January Instant she went out
of thehersaid House & Locked the DoorRoomof her
Appartment in the samesaid Houseabout one o'
Clock at Noon saith that she returned
within half an Hour afterwards and on going in
at the outward Door which she had left on the
Latch she met the two persons now present who
say their Names are Thomas Till< no role > and James
Balding
< no role > coming down her Stairs That one of
them had [..] a Bag on his Shoulder with
Something therein that on going up to her Room [..]
she found her Door had been broke open and that
there had been Stolen from her said Room
one Cotton Gown the property of this Informant
and one Coat and Waistcoat and Two Shirts
the property of Robert Graves< no role > Thereupon
she raised a Hue a Cry after the said Thomas
