taken on Oath the first day of
December 1783 before me one of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middlesex
This Informant John Mason< no role >
Saith That. on Monday, the
24th day of November last between seven and Eight o'Clock in
the Evening he was going in Company with William Tee< no role >
from the Shoulder of Mutton and Cat in Hackney fields
to
Haggerston
in the Parish of Saint Leonard Shoreditch
And
that he was stopt in a field there by three men who demanded
his money and knocked him down and took from his person
One Red Morocco Pocket Book, One pair of Plated Shoe Buckles
One paid of plated Knee Buckles, One Hat, one Metal Stock
Buckle one Stock and four pounds and upwards [..] in money
his property And further Saith that he verily believes that
John White< no role >
otherwise Turner [..] now under
Examination is one of the three persons who so Robbed
him as aforesaid.
This Informant William Tee on his Oath Saith That on
Monday the 24th day of November last he was going with
the said John Mason< no role >
from the Shoulder of Mutton and Cat
in Hackney fields
to Haggerston
as is set forth in the above
Information And further Saith That in a field between
the Shoulder of Mutton and Cat and Haggerston
they were
both Stopt by three men, and that Two of the men went
upto the said John Mason< no role >
and Robbed him and the
other came up to this Informant and made his turn his
back towards them in order that he might not take
Notice of them, and then he went back to the others And
he then heard one of the three man say Booger his Eyes
they Would have it. And after they [..] had Robbed Mr.
Mason they went away and said if they this Informant and the
said Mr. Mason did not go to Haggerston
they would
come back and kill them And further Saith that he
verily believes that John White< no role >
otherwise Turner the
prisoner now under Examination is one the three persons
who stopped and Robbed the said John Mason< no role >
as aforesaid
