The Information of James Delancey< no role > Esqr .. of No. 39
Wigmore Street Cavendish Square taken before
me this 24th.. day of June 1782.

Who being on Oath says that on Tuesday the eighteenth Day of
June Instant Lloyd Delany< no role > Esqr.. since deceased called on this Infor-
mant at No 39 aforesaid and told him he had received a Challenge
from The Reverend Bennett Allen< no role > by Letter and which Letter he then
produced and added that said Letter had been brought to him by
Robert Morris< no role > Esqr. who was then waiting in a Coach at the
door. That said Lloyd Delany then requested this Informant to
go with him and said Robert Morris< no role > to Islington Spa. where it
was supposed the said Bennett Allen< no role > was That this Informant
according by accompanied said Lloyd Delany to the Coach in which
they found said Robert Morris< no role > , and all three went in said Coach
together to Islington Spa. That when they came there, they
were told that Mr. Allen was gone to Bamber Gascoyne< no role > 's Esqr .
at Ilford . That Mrs. Delany proposed following him there but
said Robert Morris< no role > observed that he might probably be gone
from thence before they arrived, in which case they should
miss of him and advised the Mater to be deferred till next
Day; when Mr.. Delany observe tha such was his state of
mind on account of his Wifes distress that he wished to
have the Matter decided as soon as Possible and requested
Mr.. Morris to write to Mr. Allen to that purport, and that Mr.
Allen would come prepared. That Mr. Morris thereupon observed
that he did not know whether Mr. Allen would fight Mr.. Delany
or not, but that he would write to him as desired, which he
accordingly did to the effect before stated. That they all
