1782.
Who being on Oath say and first the said Thomas Carpmeal< no role >
says that on being informed there was Coining of Half pence
Carried on at No. 2 Keppel Road near the Farthing Pye house
in the [..] Road, this Informant, the said John Clark< no role >
and other wen [..] in their Yesterday about 12 o'Clock. That the
entered the Home, went into the Kitchen where he found a
Person now present was calls himself Michael Hyman< no role >
who
was Writting. That he found Quantity of Counterfeit Half pence
lying on the Dresser in said Kitchen. And the said John
Clark< no role >
for himself says that he was present at this time
and perceiving a Hole in the Wall
of the Necessary house
he went through it and from thence into a Vault where he
found a Coining Press with a pair of Dies with a Blank
between them fixed in said Press; and a Quantity of Half pence
around said Press: and further says that he found in said
Michael Hyman< no role >
's Bed Room, two Blanks of Copper & a pair
of Dies for making the Impressions on Half pence in the
Parlour of said House.
