Sixteentwenty oneShillings in Silver & two half Crowns one of
which was a Bad one & is the same now produced and the
said Welch took the Money up & put it in to his pocket
and this Informant took the said three pieces of Cotton
up and Carried them [..] to the House of the said
John Martin< no role > in the same Street & he gave her Shillings

And this Informant Elizabeth Shield< no role > for herself saith
that on a Monday about Eight Weeks ago she was
a Servant to the other Informant Sarah Wade< no role > that about
Twelve o Clock at Noon the Persons now present who calls himself John Martin< no role > cameto
to her Mistress's House & went into the back parlour & soon
after came in end Henry Welch< no role > with a Bundle in his
hand and went into the Back parlour when Martin asked
Welch what he had got to sell and he answered he had got
same Linen & Martin asked him to shew it him which
he did. & produced three Pieces of Printed Cotton of the same
Pattern of the three pieces now produced upon which
Martin asked Welch how much he would have for them
who say'd thirty Shillings & Martin told him he would
give him Twenty Shillings & they afterwards agreed for
Twenty one Shillings & this Informants Mistress Sarah Wade< no role >
Lent Martin< no role > four Shillings and this Informant saw
him pay the same to the said Henry Welch< no role > this Informant
sawher Mistress take the said three pieces of Cotton and
The said John Martin< no role > put the said three pieces of printed
Cotton into her Mistress's apron & they went out together
but where this Informant cannot tell

And this Informant Charles Grubb< no role > for himself saith that
he is a Constable that on Tuesday last he [..] saw the
Wife of John Martin< no role > of High Street coming out of Court near
to his House with a Bundle under her Arms upon which he
suspected that she had some Stolen Goods & he took her into
Custody & she say'd thatthey wereit was only some old Blankets
that she had brought from her Lodgers & he took her to [..]
the House of the said Martin who was in his Shop & the
Wife told this Informant that the Bundle was only old Blankets
& that if he would go up Stairs with her she would shew him
more of them & Martin sayd they were Old Blankets that
had been brought from the Lodgers in the Court but this
