Middlesex to wit

The Information of William Pretty< no role > taken
before me this 1st day of June 1774

Who being upon Oath says that about a fortnight or three Weeks
ago he was returning from Kensington Gardens to Oxford Street
he sat down on a Bank in Hyde Park to rest himself, that a person
now, present who calls himself John Clark< no role > came to him and behaved
in a very, indecent Manner, that when this Informant was about to
go away the said John Clark demanded Money of him threatening
that if he did not give him Money he would charge him with
attempting Sedomitical Practices that this Informant refused to
give him Money that the Said John Clark then said he was a
Servant out of place and in Distress & begged this Informant
would give him same thing upon which this Informant gave
him eighteen pence, that this Informant then went on towards
Gresevnor Gate and the said John Clark and another person now
present who calls himself John Pullen< no role > came up to him and
demanded half a Guinea of him threatening if he refused it
that they would charge him with attempting Sodomy, that this
Informant being terrified with the thoughts of such Scandal
gave them half a Guinea, that in Tuesday the 24th.Instof
May last this Informant being in his own Room the said John
Clark and John Pullen together with a third person now present
who calls himself William Rooke< no role > came to him and said they
had got a Warrant from a Justice of Peace against this
Informant for attempting Sodomy and that if this Informant
would not give them twenty Guineas they would carry him before
a Justice that they Informant refusing to give them twenty Guineas
