The Several Informations of Thomas Cooke< no role > Surgeon , John Pitt< no role > Postillion
Edward Richardson< no role > Ostler , Edward Thorn< no role > Dyex , & Joshua Brogden< no role > Gentleman
taken & acknowledged on Behalf of our Sovereign Lord the King touching the Death
of John Lee< no role > at the Red Lyon without Highgate in the County of Middlesex on the 27th. day of February 1761
before me George Grew< no role > on an Inquisition then & there taken on View of the Body of the said
John Lee< no role > as Underwritten.

Thomas Cooke< no role > of Highgate in the County of Middlesex Surgeon on
his Oath says that on the Morning of the 25th. day of February 1761 This
Deponent being sent for attended at the Red Lyon without Highgate aforesaid
to examine the Person of One John Lee< no role > when this Deponent found a bullett wound
on the left side of the said John Lee< no role > between the 4th. & 5th. false Kibb which had
Bullett had penitrated into the Body of the sd John Lee< no role > so farr towards his
right side that this Deponent feeling the Bullet made an Incision through
the Integuments & extracted the Same, Deponent further says that sd John
Lee
< no role > lived afterwds. about 12 hours & then dyed and Deponent verily belives
that the wound given to the said John Lee< no role > by the said Bullett was the cause of
his Death.

Thos. Cooke< no role >

John Pill< no role >

a position, servant to Mr. Barber of Long Acre Inn holder on his
Oath says that on the same 25th Day of February he this Deponent draw Mr.
Pentlows & Mr Darvill in a post Chaise & Stopped with these at Islington
Turnpike & waited with them till the Warrington Stage Coach cause & then this
Deponent drave his Chaise & Company after the sd Stage Coach (at some Distance)
untill he gott as far as the Cook at lower Holloway when One man on
Horseback ordered this Deponent to stop, otherwise he would blow this Deponts
Brains out, Deponent did Stop, & the One Man turned to the chaise this Deponts.
draw & thrust his Pistoll thro the Blind of same Chaise on the nigh or left side
& demanded Money otherwise he would blow Brains only when out of the
two in the Chaise fired a Blunderbuss at the Man by the left side of Chaise
who then fired a Pistol in return & retired towards London and this Deponents
fare gott out of the Chaise & walked towards London with few Arms, till
they mett another Coach: This Deponent knows nothing of the Death
of John Lee< no role > .

Edward Richardson< no role >

Servant to John Handforth< no role > of the Seven & 2 Weeks in
Lad Law London on his Oath says that on the same 25th. day of Febry
this Deponent attended the Leeds Stage Coach as Guard thereto with a peiece of
fire Arms And very early in the morning in some Part of the Holloway this
Dept.
