An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the KING at the Dwelling House of William Lenny known by the Sign of
Bulland Ax in John in the Parish of St Mary le bone in the County Middlesex , the third Day of May in the 25th Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third , by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, KING Defender of
the Faith, Etc. before Edward Umfreville< no role > one of the Coroners of our said Lord
the KING, for the said County, on veiw of the body Catherine Stewart< no role >
then and there lying dead upon the Oath of
Francis Thomson< no role > , Robert Stone< no role > Jonathan Watson< no role > Charles Haskew< no role > John Roberts< no role > Richard
Haynes Frederick Andrews< no role > Thomas Singer< no role > Thomas Wilson< no role > , Peter Lucas< no role > John
Temple John Bass< no role > : and James Horn< no role >

good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by the law required and who being, then and there duly sworn
and charged, to enquire for our said Lord the KING, when, how, and by what means the said Catherine Stewart< no role >
came to h er Death, Do upon their Oath say, [..]
That the said Catherine Steward< no role > on the first day of May in the Year aforesaid at the Parish and
County aforesaid being near the Fire in the Kitchen of the Dwelling House of one John
Charlton situate in Holles Street in the Parish and County aforesaid It so happened that
the Cloaths of her the said Catherine Stewart< no role > then and there accidentally Casually and by
Misfortune caught Fire and the said Catherine Stewart< no role > by the Flames and Smoak
arising from the said Cloaths so being on Fire as aforesaid was then and there Suffocated
Smothered and Burnt of which said Suffocating Smothering and Burning she the said
Catherine Stewart< no role > then and there Instantly died And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their
Oath aforesaid do say that the said Catherine Stewart< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid
Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune Came to her death and not otherwise to the Knowledge
of the said Jurors

In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said, Francis Thomson< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned
