Informations of Witnesses taken at theParish of
Workhouse of Saint Olave in the Parish of Saint
John within the Borough of Southwark in the
County of Surrey this 25th: day of May 1799 on view of
the body of John Gilham< no role > now here lying Dead

Robert Theobald< no role > a Mariner belonging to the Providence
of Yarmouth now lying at Simmonds Wharf in the Parish
of Saint OlaveJohnSouthwark maketh oath that between four and
five of Thursday afternoon last Dept saw the deced on board
the Brig Dove of Yarmouth to which Vessel he belonged and
which Vessel then lay alongside of the Providencethat the deced
was then playing on the forecastle of the Dovethat in a
minute or two after the state of the Dove asked Dept after
[..] deced he being missingThat enquiry was made after the
decedThatDept. has been informed the decedwasyesterday
Morning between eleven and twelve taken out of the Water near Gun
and shot Wharf in the aforesaid ParishDept. has been the
deced this afternoon lying Dead in Saint Olaves Workhouse

now lying at Gun and Shot Wharf Saint OlaveJohn Southwark maketh
Oath that between eleven and twelve yesterday Morning Dept. being
in a Lighter alongside of the said Vessel saw [..] that in the Water
between the Lighter and Dept. VesselDept. with a Brathook
under wound to hook the Hat and in so doing he looked the deced
Dept. got the deced in to the Lighter from whence he was taken
on there.
