Southwark

Deposition of a Witness taken at the Parish of
Saint Saviour within the Borough of Southwark
in the County of Surrey this 13th. day of November
1795 on view of the Body of Peter Hall< no role > now here
lying dead

Ann < no role > Wife of James Moor< no role > of No. 1 College yard
Parish of Saint Saviours Southwark Labourer maketh
Oath, that she hath known the deced Peter Hall< no role > near thirteen
years that he was a Smith< no role > & Saviours by business
That he deced lived at Banstead in the County of Surrey
that he came to Dept. house on Tuesday last about eight
OClock in the Eveng & stayed he was just arrived in the
Borough from Banstead that he stayed to Sap & then
went away That the deced came to Dept. house about
8 OClock on the Wednesday Night following and capped
with Dept. her husband & another person that he was
a little intoxicated when he came that about ten OClock
the deced [..] having ago previously agreed to sleep at Dept.
she took a Candle in order to light him to Bed that Dept. were
up a few Stairs of the one pair of Stairs & the deced followed
Dept. was still going up when hearing something fall she
looked round & found the deced had fallen down the Stair
that Dept. husband came out of the lower Room & gifted [..]
the deced up that he never moved or stirred after

James Moor< no role > husband of the last Witness having heard the
deposition of his Wife read says the same is true and in addition
thereto that upon hearing something fall he went out of the
Room he was in [..] to the Stairs & found the deced lying with
head down wards near a Port or Frame of the Door. that he
was quite insensible & never moved or stirred after Dept
examined the deced that a little blood came from the upper
Part of his head & he had a cut or wound upon the right side
of his forehead that a Doctor came soon after but the deced was
quite head.
