Depositions of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say at the Parish of Saint Sepulchre
in the Ward of Farringdon without in
London aforesaid the 23 day of September
1790 on view of the body of William
Hepworth now here lying dead

Edward Martin< no role > a Bricklayer and a Lodger at Mr. Eyres
No. 18 Turnagain Lane in the Parish of Saint Sepulchres in
the City of London maketh Oath that he hath known the
deced William Hepworth< no role > about three Years that he was a
Bricklayer by Trade That the deced has been ill about a
Week [..] complained of a violent Cold and pain in his
Back-that and has been confined to his Room for this Week
past-that for there last two or three days he was so ill
as to be confined to his Bad-That the deced seeming to get
worse [..] and Smith and Deponent were employed
to sit up with the deced during his illness.-that Dept. sat
up with the deced last Night in order to a pish him and take
carehimof him-that during the Night the deced seemed very
[..] and complained of a great deal of pain in his Back and
head-but was sensible-that Dept left the deced about ½ past
five OClock this Morning-that [..] the deced & Cloaths were all off and the
[..] was then in Bed-that Dept. covered the deced with the Bed
[..] and sayed to the deced he hoped he Coals be better when
he the Dept. shod see him at Dinner time the deced answered
and sayed he hoped he should and seemed sensible at that time
that on Deponent return to his Lodging about 12 OClock
he was informed by Mrs. Eyres that William ward end for that
she had found him hanging up in his Room and that he was
dead-that Dept. and said Smith went up to the two pair of
StairsRoomback Room in said Mrs. Eyres's house [..]
that they found the deced lying on the Floor at the Foot of the
Bed quite dead-that hehadthe deced had [..] all his Cloaths on except his
Coat Shoes & Hat a that Dept. Slapt with in the same Bed with
the deced for near the [..] eighteen Months past until the
deced became ill-that the deced seemed to be upon very good
terms with the people in the house
