The Minutes of the Prison Committee of the 8th of June last were read
and confirmed whereby it appeared.
That the Committee had accepted the proposal of Mr Thomas

for building a Prison for the Men for the Sum of £2850-
That the Surveyor had paid to the Treasurer £158-3-4 produced
by the Sale of the Old Materials
That the Committee had resolved that John Gearing< no role >
the
Superintendant of the Prisons should be restored to his place till
their next meeting

A Motion being made and Seconded it was unanimously resolved
that the Thanks of this Court be given to Mr

these Hospitals for his steady uniform and persevering Conduct by which the
dispute and litigation between the Governors and Mr. Snuggs a Contractor
to perform Sunday Works to the Prisons through whose want of attention a
dreadful accident happened on the 19th June 1795 was adjusted much to
the advantage of these Hospitals

the County of Bedford

was read whereby he gave £500 to Bethlem
Hospital.
Steward of Bridewell.
The Court took into consideration the Resolution of the last General Court
that a Net Salary of £200 per Annum should be paid to the Steward
of Bridewell and that the said Salary should be in lieu of the Antient
Salary of £100 per Annum and £42 per Annum for keeping the Accounts
of both Hospitals Whereupon the said resolution was unanimously agreed
to and confirmed
